Burna Boy’s 2023 album I Told Them... has surpassed 800 million streams on Spotify, a milestone confirmed March 22, 2026 by multiple chart trackers.
Released August 25, 2023, I Told Them... is now Burna Boy’s third project to exceed 800 million Spotify streams, following Love, Damini and African Giant, both of which sit in the billion-club. The album also ranks as the 10th most-streamed Nigerian project of all time on Spotify in global cumulative plays.
The 15-track, 41-minute record features guest turns such as GZA on the title track and spawned major hits including City Boys, Normal and On Form. City Boys alone accounts for hundreds of millions of streams. The album set early records for first-day African album streams, registering roughly 9 million streams on day one, topped charts in dozens of countries and helped secure Burna Boy his first UK number one album.
I Told Them... reached 700 million and then about 750 million streams through 2025 before clearing the 800 million threshold this month, underscoring the project’s staying power amid heavy competition from recent Nigerian releases. The milestone reinforces Burna Boy’s position as the most-streamed African artist ever, with multiple billion-stream projects and numerous songs that have surpassed 100 million plays.
