Alax Evalsam, the Nigerian street hawker who shot to fame as Fish Pie Guy for his sing-song calls of "Fiiiiish Piiiiieeee," says influencers turned his viral moment into content and left him "used and dumped." "Everyone used me, now I'm broke," he declared during a heated appearance on Carter Efe's live stream this week, where he revisited the deals and fallout from his brief celebrity.

Alax rose to prominence across TikTok and Instagram in late 2024 and early 2025 after clips of him selling fish pies went viral. Comedians and creators including Nons Miraj helped amplify his profile; he received high-profile gifts reportedly including a car valued at about ₦4.6 million and a rented house, while creators such as VeryDarkMan gave cash donations in one instance reported as ₦1 million. For a moment he became a symbol of sudden, street-to-success visibility.

But by early 2025 the attention, he says, evaporated. In interviews and podcasts resurfacing in March 2026 he alleged not only abandonment but mistreatment, recounting incidents of flogging, pepper spray, and being forced to sign purported ambassadorial documents he says were fake. On Carter Efe's March 22-23 live stream Alax laid out claims about specific arrangements, including a reported agreement with "Oga Amos" for ₦1.2 million in exchange for seven videos. Carter Efe invited people on stream to provide receipts and additional context as the exchanges escalated.

Online responses have been mixed. Supporters say Alax's story highlights the precariousness of viral fame without formal support systems. Others have accused him of ingratitude. Friends of Nons Miraj posted car receipts to challenge some of Alax's allegations, while other posts circulated that hinted at personal details about him, further fueling debate.

The dispute continues to unfold across social platforms, underscoring a recurring tension in internet culture: sudden visibility can bring short-term generosity and long-term complications, especially when informal arrangements replace sustained support.
