The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has provided fresh details about the arrest of Samuel Ojeogwu, better known as Sammy West and brother to popular actress Regina Daniels.
According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the case began when investigators received a petition on October 28, 2025. The petition accused Samuel and several others of working together to intimidate an individual, trespass on private property, engage in physical confrontation, take personal items, and carry out harmful online behavior. The police said Samuel was invited multiple times for questioning but reportedly did not respond.
He was later picked up in Lagos through a court-approved warrant and moved to Abuja so detectives could proceed with the investigation. On November 6, 2025, he was presented before a court where the judge ordered that he remain in custody until he is able to meet the requirements of his bail.
Regina Daniels has openly expressed worry about the situation, suggesting that people connected to her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, may be using their influence in the background. The actress said she has been distressed by the length of the detention and revealed that her parents travelled to Abuja to assist. In a recent video, Regina hinted that she might even consider settling her differences with Nwoko if it would help secure her brother’s release. She also voiced concern about what she believes is unfair treatment and the impact of power on the case.
Regina accused Nwoko of manipulation and mistreatment. The senator dismissed the allegations and claimed that Regina has been dealing with personal challenges that contributed to tension in their marriage. The police emphasized that the matter is entirely in the hands of the court and that proper procedures are being followed as the case progresses.
