The flashpoint was a line in Adekunle Gold’s recently released song "Life of the Faaji" that many listeners took as a jab at Seyi Vibez’s November 2025 album Fuji Moto: "They love my fuji, this no be Fuji moto." The lyric was widely read as Gold positioning his brand of Fuji-influenced sound above Vibez’s modern interpretation.
Seyi Vibez answered with a string of slang-filled social media posts, calling Adekunle Gold "Adekunle panda" and "Egbon ofo," terms that imply the older artist is broke, outdated, or irrelevant. Video director TG Omori added fuel to the fire by sharing a mocking clip that appeared to side with Vibez.
Supporters of Adekunle Gold, who is 39, condemned what they see as disrespect toward an established veteran; Vibez’s backers, many younger, argue the 25-year-old street-pop sensation has earned the right to respond boldly after his rapid rise and street credibility.
