Popular Nigerian TikTok content creator Hamzat Kolu, widely known as Kolu Wahala or simply Kolu, has publicly denied claims made by a woman who went viral alleging that she is his biological mother.
In a video response shared widely online, Kolu firmly rejected the woman’s claims, stating that he does not know her and has no connection to her. He said that his biological mother passed away a long time ago and emphasized that he only has a father and a brother as his immediate family. In the same video, he warned that if he encounters the woman or anyone attempting to falsely associate themselves with him, he would involve the police and pursue arrest. He stressed that he would not tolerate what he described as false narratives that could damage his reputation.
The situation originated after the woman released an emotional video accusing Kolu of abandoning her in the village after gaining fame through TikTok skits, live streaming, and collaborations. In her video, she claimed to have suffered while carrying him for nine months and expressed pain over what she described as a lack of support following his rise to popularity.
Responding to these allegations, Kolu reiterated details of his family background that he has previously shared in interviews and profiles. He stated that he is the first born in his family and confirmed again that his mother is deceased. He added that he plans to post about his father publicly to further clarify his family history and put an end to the speculation.

While some supporters have defended his right to protect his privacy and reputation, others have questioned the tone of his response, suggesting that the strong language could have reputational consequences.
