Tiwa Savage Launches Music Foundation at Glamorous Star-Studded Lagos Gala

Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has launched the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, a new nonprofit dedicated to expanding access, mentorship, and world class music education for emerging African creatives. The foundation was unveiled at a gala in Lagos on March 9, 2026, with attendance from industry figures and public officials, underscoring the project’s ambition to build lasting infrastructure for talent development.

The foundation’s flagship initiative, Berklee in Nigeria: Tiwa Savage Intensive Music Program, is a four day course taking place in Lagos from April 23 to 26, 2026, run in partnership with Berklee College of Music. One hundred selected participants will receive full funding to attend the intensive, which is designed to combine practical training with direct access to industry professionals.

The program curriculum covers music production, songwriting, sound engineering, and music business, with an emphasis on hands on skills and industry connections that can support career development. Applications opened on February 24, 2026, and will remain free and available through March 20, 2026. Selected applicants will be provided with funding to cover participation.

Savage has framed the foundation as a response to persistent gaps in music education and professional pathways across the continent, particularly for underrepresented communities. The foundation aims to create structured opportunities that connect emerging artists, producers, engineers, and executives with training and mentorship that can help them compete on the global stage.

The launch and the upcoming Berklee program mark the foundation’s first major public programs and set a clear timetable for its initial interventions in Lagos. With applications currently open and the intensive scheduled for April, the foundation’s immediate focus is on delivering practical training and building networks that participants can use beyond the classroom.
